Gophers receive top national ranking

12/6/00 - The University of Minnesota wrestling team is ranked as the top dual team in the nation according to rankings released today by InterMat, an online amateur wrestling service. The Golden Gophers are 2-0 on the season, with wins over North Dakota State and Northern Iowa.

This season, Minnesota wrestles 10 schools currently ranked in the top 25, including second-ranked Oklahoma State on Jan. 7, 2001 at Williams Arena. The Golden Gophers travel to the East Coast this weekend for dual meets against No. 19 Hofstra, Princeton and Seton Hall on Sunday, Dec. 10. The complete InterMat dual team rankings are below.
