Hisek Named NCC Wrestler of the Week

Mankato, Minn.- The offices of the North Central Conference have announced that Minnesota State University, Mankato junior Hannon Hisek (Tyndall, S.D.) has been named Wrestler of the Week for his performance last week against Luther College. It is the first time in his career that Hisek has received the honor.

Hisek is currently ranked seventh in the NCAA Division II poll at 149 pounds. In the dual meet against Luther, Hisek pinned the defending Division III national champion Garrett Kurth with one second remaining in the second period. The extra team points gave Minnesota State breathing room in a tight 23-21 victory.

Hisek is on pace for his second 30-win season and is gunning for his second All-American honor this year after a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championships last season.
