Kummer named NSIC Wrestler of the Week

Marshall, MN: Southwest State senior Cody Kummer was named as this weekIs Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week.

A 197-pound native of Watford City, ND, Kummer earned two victories this week. One came by forfeit in the MustangIs 39-6 victory over Minnesota-Morris on Tuesday and the other came when Kummer pinned AugustanaIs Jeremy Murphy in 2:57 in SSUIs loss to the Vikings on Saturday.

Kummer has posted a 16-7 record at this point in the season. His 16 wins is a team high for Southwest State. Kummer has earned victories in five of his last six dual matches and has earned three of those wins by pinning his opponent.

Southwest State is currently 6-13 in dual matches this season and will travel to MSU, Mankato on Thursday to face the Mavericks. Southwest will host the NSIC individual championships on Sunday in the R/A Facility.

Southwest State is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Northen Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
