He pinned South Dakota State's Nathan Wallman in 6:38 in SSU's 19-28 loss to the Jackrabbits on Wednesday. He posted SSU's only win with a pin in 2:52 over Nebraska-Omaha's Eli Dominguez in Southwest's 41-6 loss to the Mavericks. Soupir was one of two Mustangs named All-NSIC in last week's individual tournament by taking second place.

Soupir has recorded a record of 17-13 so far this season and has helped SSU to a 6-16 dual record in the 2001-02 season. The Mustangs will compete in the NCAA Division II Regionals in Aberdeen, SD on Saturday.
