Former Minnesota Gopher All-American Joins the UM-Morris Wrestling Program
Morris, MN - Former University of Minnesota Gopher wrestling star Brad Gibson has taken the position of assistant wrestling coach at the University of Minnesota-Morris.
Gibson earned two Minnesota State High School wrestling titles from nearby Chokio-Alberta High School, then went on to star at the University of Minnesota under coach J Robinson. During his collegiate career Gibson won an individual Big Ten title in 1994, and took home NCAA I All-American honors in 1994, placing 3rd at 177 pounds, and 6th in 1993.
From 1997 - 1999, Gibson served as the Wrestling Strength and Condition Coach for the University of Minnesota. Then in 1999 - 2002, Gibson led the mat program at Morris Area High School in Morris, MN.
"I am thrilled to get Brad Gibson in our program," said UM-Morris head coach Doug Reese. "Brad will help raise the level of intensity in the room each day at practice. His experience at the Division I level as an athlete and as a coach, and as a high school coach in Minnesota will benefit us greatly on the mat and in recruiting."
