Gophers head to National Duals

The third-ranked Golden Gophers (6-2) head to the 2003 Cliff Keen/NWCA National Dual Meet Championships this weekend in Columbus, Ohio.

Gold Country will take on No. 20 Iowa State (4-4) on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m., in St. John Arena on the Ohio State campus. Minnesota is the two-time defending champion of the National Duals. The Maroon and Gold has won the event three times (1998, 2001, 2002). Minnesota has not lost a meet at National Duals since a 17-16 loss to Iowa State in the finals of the 2000 National Duals in University Park, Pa.

The Golden Gophers have won four consecutive dual meets since falling to top-ranked Oklahoma State on Friday, Jan. 3. Minnesota went 3-0 at the Sun Devil Duals with wins over Embry-Riddle, Lock Haven and No. 9 Arizona State. Minnesota followed with a 27-12 win at No. 7 Nebraska.
