Rhoten named NCC Wrestler of the Week

Minnesota State-Mankato's Jason Rhoten (Mantorville, Minn.) has been named North Central Conference Wrestler of the Week, along with Augustana's Sam Kenton. Rhoten scored a 14-4 major decision over Northern Colorado's #5 ranked Ronnie Stafford in his first ever collegiate match. The following night, he pinned 2002 national qualifier Josh Soupir in 3:39, helping the Mavericks to a 43-0 win over Southwest State. Rhoten, a 2002 Kasson-Mantorville graduate, was a 140-pound Minnesota state champion last season, compiling a record of 43-1 as a senior.
