NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches' Association rankings

EDMOND, Okla. -- Nebraska-Kearney, which upended defending national champion Central Oklahoma in last weekend1s NWCA Division II National Duals, is the new No. 1 team in the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches' Association rankings that were released Wednesday.

The Antelopes ended UCO1s 23-match winning streak with a 21-19 win in the semifinals before downing Nebraska-Omaha 24-14 in the National Duals finals. UNK received all eight first-place votes and had 160 points to claim their first-ever No. 1 Division II national wrestling rating.

UCO, which came back to finish third in the 16-team National Duals, is second in the poll with 152 points while UNO is third with 144 points, Augustana (S.D.) fourth with 129 and San Francisco State fifth with 120. Rounding out the top 10 is Pittsburgh-Johnstown (Pa.), North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Ashland (Ohio) and Adams State (Colo.).

UNK has seven ranked individuals, topped by No. 1 Brandon Pfizenmaier (157). UCO has three top-ranked individuals -- Mark Dodgen (125), Cole Province (133) and Matt Dodgen (141) -- while No. 1 Chad Wallace (197) leads UNO's list of seven rated wrestlers.

The 2003 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships are March 14-15 in Wheeling, W. Va.
