Gophers take to the road this weekend

January 30, 2003

The fourth-ranked Golden Gophers (11-4, 1-0 Big Ten) take to the road for the first full weekend of Big Ten competition. Minnesota battles No. 15 Penn State (9-3, 2-0) on Friday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m., before heading to Columbus, Ohio to take on No. 3 Ohio State on Sunday, Feb. 2. Ohio State (8-3, 0-0) hosts Indiana on Thursday top open its Big Ten season. The Maroon and Gold is coming off a 22-14 win over Michigan State in Minnesota's conference home opener. The Golden Gophers have not lost a Big Ten meet since Feb. 20, 2000, when Iowa downed UM 20-13 at Williams Arena. Minnesota has not dropped a conference meet on the road since Feb. 6, 1998 at Penn State (21-13).
