NCAA Division II Rankings

EDMOND, Okla. -- Defending NCAA Division II national champion Central Oklahoma earned the No. 1 ranking in the first regular season NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches' Association poll that was released Wednesday.

The Bronchos, who captured their 13th national title last March, received seven of the eight first-place votes in balloting of coaches from around the country and finished with 159 points to claim the No. 1 rating.

Nebraska-Omaha is second in the poll with 150 points, while North Dakota State earned the other first-place vote and is third with 146 points followed by Nebraska-Kearney with 132 points and Ashland (Ohio) with 129.

Rounding out the top 10 is South Dakota State, Pittsburgh-Johnstown (Pa.), San Francisco State, Findlay (Ohio) and Wisconsin-Parkside.

UCO has four individuals ranked No. 1 -- returning champions Cole Province (133), Matt Dodgen (141) and Shawn Silvis (165) and 2000 champion Mark Dodgen (125).

The 2003 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships will be held in Wheeling, W. Va. on March 14-15.
