Huskies place fifth at Annual SCSU Invitational

St. Cloud, Minn. - Seniors Matt Neumueller (Medford, WI) at 165 pounds and Dustin Darveaux (Pipestone) at heavyweight won championship titles at the 32nd Annual St. Cloud State University Wrestling Invitational Saturday afternoon at Halenbeck Hall. The Huskies placed fifth in the team standings and North Dakota State (132.5) and Augsburg College (127) finished first and second, respectively for the third straight year.

Neumueller, the number two seed at 165, was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the Meet posting three wins enroute to the championship. He defeated Mike Fiedler of North Dakota State 7-2 in the championship bout.

Darveaux, the number one seed at heavyweight in the tournament and ranked second in NCAA Division II went 4-0 and defeated Baron Blanchard of Northern State 11-2.

At 133 pounds, sophomore Derek Miller (Elmwood, WI) placed fifth and sophomore Gerard Evans (Union City, CA) placed fifth at 184.
