The Huskies fall to 1-7, 0-3 NCC on the season in dual meet action, while #11 MSUM moves to 5-1, 2-0 NCC. St. Cloud State picked up a pair of victories at 165-pounds and heavyweight. Senior Matt Neumueller (Medford, Wis.), who is ranked #1 in the nation in the latest DII poll, gained a solid 5-3 win over MSUM's Jake Emerick, who is ranked #6 in the latest polls. Neumueller and Emerick were tied 2-2 at the end of the second period but a reversal by Neumueller with 1:25 left gave Neumueller a 3-2 edge. A takedown with :28 left on the clock, put Neumueller (17-4) ahead 5-2.
At the heavyweight position, #2 ranked Dustin Darveaux of St. Cloud State, charted a 5-2 decision over MSUM's Paul Svien. Darveaux jumped out to a quick 4-1 in the first period and held on from that point for the win. Darveaux is now 27-2 this season.
The Huskies will travel to Southwest State in Marshall on Feb. 1, for a 7 p.m. match.
