Carlson voted Top Division II Wrestler

COLUMBUS, OH - North Dakota State University wrestler PAUL CARLSON was named the top wrestler in Division II at the NWCA National Duals by a vote of the participating coaches Sunday.

Carlson, a junior from St. Francis, MN, logged a 5-0 record at 157 pounds on Saturday and Sunday. He extended his record to 15-2 overall and 7-0 in duals this season.

Carlson is the top-rated wrestler at 157 pounds in the latest NWCA Division II poll. He outscored his opponents by a 55-15 margin while scoring two decisions, two major decisions, and one technical fall.

North Dakota State finished seventh in the 16-team National Duals tournament. NDSU went 3-2 in the two-day event, charting a 26-16 win over South Dakota State on Sunday morning for seventh place.

The No. 3-ranked Bison and seventh-ranked Jackrabbits tangle again Friday night in a North Central Conference battle beginning at 7:30 at the Bison Sports Arena in Fargo.
