South Dakota State won six matches and defeated Northern Colorado 20-13 in North Central Conference wrestling Wednesday (Dec. 4) at Greeley.
There were no pins in the match but the Jacks recorded major decisions by Tyler Bryant 165 and Bryan Cowdin at 174.
The dual started at 157 pounds, where UNC won a 7-5 sudden victory decision for a 3-0 lead.
Bryant followed that with a 16-6 decision at 165, giving the Jacks a 4-3 lead, and SDSU won the next three matches to go ahead 14-3.
One of the featured matches of the night came at 141, where SDSU sophomore Jeremy Roe, the defending NCC champion, decisioned No. 2 ranked Ronnie Stafford of UNC 5-0.
SDSU is now 1-2 on the season. The Jacks will compete in the Las Vegas Invitational Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas (starts at 9 a.m. each day at the Las Vegas Convention Center).
