The dual meet schedule heats up in a hurry this weekend for North Dakota State. The Bison have drawn the top seed for the NWCA National Duals tournament that runs Saturday and Sunday at Cleveland State University. NDSU, still ranked first in the nation, will face ninth-ranked North Carolina-Pembroke in Saturdays opening round at 8 a.m. CT at Cleveland State's Convocation Center.
THE FORMAT: It will take four straight wins to claim the National Duals title. The first three rounds will all be wrestled Saturday with the semifinals taking place at 7:30 p.m. CT. That's where the Bison are aiming to meet North Central Conference foe Nebraska-Omaha. The Mavericks are fourth in the country and defending NCC champions. The championship match is slated for 2 p.m. CT on Sunday. Consolation brackets and times have not been released.
BUCKY'S CLOSING IN: North Dakota State is coached by National Hall of Famer Bucky Maughan, whos in the 40th year of his illustrious Bison coaching career. Maughan needs only four wins to achieve his 400th career victory, and it could happen this weekend in Cleveland. He has a record of 396-112-11.
