At a ceremony held at Dakota County Technical College on April 27th, ten wrestlers signed to wrestle at Dakota County Technical College for Coach Henry Gerten. The following wrestlers have signed a letter to wrestle for the Blue Knights:

125 Justin Weeks (Rosemount High School)

Justin was a solid starter for the Rosemount High School wrestling team. He was a member of the Rosemount team that placed second two years in a row in the very tough Section 6 in Class AAA. He lost in the true second match to enter state as a junior and looks to bring his skills to a higher level at Dakota County Technical College.

133 Nate Brackenbury (Cambridge/Isanti High School)

Nate is a very accomplished wrestler from Cambridge. He wrestled at 135 lbs. and placed third in his section, just missing the state tournament. He brings experience and toughness to a very deep lower weight recruiting class.

141/149 Aaron Myers (Spooner High School WI)

Aaron Myers was a standout wrestler for Spooner High School. He was a team leader and led his team in wins. He placed 6th in the state tournament and beat the wrestler who placed third during the year. "We look for Aaron to challenge for a varsity spot and really bring depth to the lower weight classes," said Gerten.

149/157 Tony Bednarek (Tartan High School)

Tony is a very talented wrestler who has proven to be a tough competitor. Tony wrestled for Tartan High School and was a section champ and a state qualifier. He finished his senior year with a 32-12 record and really stabilizes the Blue Knights middle weights. "I look for Tony to push for a stating position right away," said Gerten.

149/157 John Liebel (Tartan High School)

John comes to DCTC from Tartan high school where he wrestled at 152 pounds for the Titans. John helped the Titans team to have one of their best seasons in years and just fell short of his goal to reach the state tournament. "We are excited to have john part of our recruiting class and look for him to add much depth and really push for a stating spot in the Blue Knights Line up," said Gerten.

149/157 Perry Olson (Roseville High School)

Perry is coming off a very successful career at Roseville High School. Perry was the sectional champ and placed 5th at the Minnesota State Tournament. "He brings great skill on his feet to the Blue Knights and a work ethic that will push his teammates," said Gerten. Perry finished his senior season with a 42-7 record and looks to push for a starting spot at either 149 or 157.

165 Chad Brommerich (Winona High School)

Chad comes to us from Winona High School were he placed 4th at his tough section 1 tournament. Chad just missed qualifying for the state meet. "Chad is very talented on his feet and will bring a very tough work ethic," said Gerten. "As a Blue Knight, Chad will push himself to reach his goals and provide a spark to our upper weights."

165 Ross Murray (Anoka High School)

Ross is a very tough wrestler from Anoka. "He will bring instant credibility to our upper weights," said Gerten. He finished his high school career as an all-state wrestler placing 3rd as a senior. At the state meet, Ross' only loss was 8-7 to the eventual state champion. "We look for Ross to bring a nice work ethic and some leadership to the Blue Knights upper weights," said Gerten.

174/184 Carl Troje (Eagan High School)

Carl is a local product from Eagan. He brings a lot of experience in wrestling and placed third in the section as a senior just barely missing the state meet. Carl will help solidify the upper weights for the Blue Knights. "I look for Carl to push for a starting spot at either 174 or 184 lbs," said Gerten.

Hwt Casey Hellenberg (Simley High School)

Casey comes to us from the wrestling powerhouse Simley. Casey was one of the top heavy weights in the state until a knee injury cut hi senior season short. "Through diligent rehabilitation and a madman work ethic, Casey has built himself back into shape and will provide the stopper the Blue Knights need at heavy weight," said Gerten. "I look for Casey to push for All-American status in his first year."

Coach Henry Gerten is very pleased at the start of his recruiting class. Gerten will look to add at least ten more athletes who will provide depth and push for starting spots.
