NDSU's Fiedler named NCC Wrestler of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, SD--North Dakota State University senior Mike Fiedler of Sauk Centre, MN, is the North Central Conference Wrestler of the Week, the league office announced today.
No. 2-ranked Fiedler won the title at 165 pounds Saturday in the St. Cloud State Invitational. He pinned Matt Houtsma of Ridgewater in 3:03, won by 14-4 major decision over SCSU‚s Dan Duch, and won by 5-2 decision over Augsburg‚s Tyler Marr for the crown.
Fiedler helped NDSU win its fourth straight team title in the event. The Bison edged Augsburg by 4 1/2 points.
North Dakota State (0-0) is idle until Jan. 11 when the Bison revisit St. Cloud State for their first North Central Conference dual meet.
