FARGO, ND--Brian Kraemer's technical fall in the third bout gave North Dakota State the lead for good in a 29-8 wrestling win over Minnesota State-Moorhead on Friday before a crowd of 706 at the Bison Sports Arena.
Kraemer, the No. 1-ranked wrestler in Division II at 197 pounds, recorded five takedowns in the third period and used a 2:50 time advantage to put together a 21-6 win. It put the Bison up 7-4 after they trailed two bouts into the meet.
After Thad Pike scored a 7-3 decision to give NDSU (8-0) the first lead, MSUM's Ryan Kopiasz answered with major decision to put the Dragons up briefly at 4-3.
After the win by Kraemer and a 9-1 major decision by Bison heavyweight Joe Bryce, MSU-Moorhead (7-2) pulled within 11-8 when Desmond Radunz rolled up an 18-6 major decision at 125 pounds.
North Dakota State responded with five straight wins for the final score, including major decisions by Nick Magee at 133, Zach Stevens at 149, and Mike Fiedler in the finale at 165.
The victory extended NDSU's home dual meet winning streak to 15 and its overall winning streak to 13.
The Bison will travel Tuesday night to Augsburg College in Minneapolis to close out a string of three straight non-conference meets.
