#3 Nebraska-Omaha defeats #12 Minnesota State, Mankato

Third ranked Nebraska-Omaha (8-2, 2-0 NCC) snapped MSU's six-dual winning streak as they defeated Minnesota State (6-6, 2-2 NCC) 27-9 in the Lee and Helene Sapp Fieldhouse on the campus of UNO Friday evening.

The evening started at 149 as UNO picked up a pair of major decisions. Minnesota State would get on the board when freshman 174 pounder Travis Krinkie (Blue Earth, Minn.) picked up a 7-2 decision over Blu Wahle. Krinkie entered the dual ranked seventh in NCAA Division II. Seventh ranked 184 pounder Jon Dierks (Mankato, Minn.) continued the winning trend as he picked up a 4-0 decision over Nate Oviatt before junior Josh Janousek (Greenbush, Minn.) picked up a 6-2 decision at 197 over Ben Strandburg to round out the Maverick scoring.

Minnesota State will close out their regular season schedule next week as they host Northern State on Thursday, Feb. 19 and St. Cloud State on Saturday, Feb. 20. Both duals are set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
