NDSU heavyweight transfers to MSU-Moorhead
January 6, 2004
Heavyweight Chris Tuchscherer transfered to MSU-Moorhead from North Dakota State University. A Division I academic time clock rule used up all of Tuchscherer's eligibility at the Division I level. Division I athletes are allowed five years to get their four years of eligibility completed except for special circumstances.
Tuchscherer won two North Dakota Class B state titles for Bowman High School in 1993 and 1994. He then went on to enroll in a junior college after high school. Tuchscherer went back to college at NDSU in 2002 and now has tansfered over to Moorhead. He was 10-4 last year with three pins and came into this season with a 22-12 career record.
"He's a pretty tough heavyweight," said NDSU head coach Bucky Maughan. "I think he'll do pretty well for the Dragons."
"We are excited to have Tuchscherer aboard," stated MSU-Moohead head coach Keenan Spiess.
