The SJU wrestling team traveled to the Cornell Invitational in Mount Vernon, Iowa on Saturday, Jan. 8 and finished fourth out of 13 teams. The Johnnies had 78.5 team points, compared to 147 for Coe, 105 for Augustana and 89.5 for the University of Chicago. 

Individually, SJU junior Dan Willaert (North Mankato, Minn./Mankato Loyola) won the 184-pound weight class and junior Dan Fiecke (Winsted, Minn./Holy Trinity) won the 197-pound weight class title. Sophomore Jacob Malone (New York Mills, Minn.) finished in third place at 149 pounds, junior Nate Schraan (Eagan, Minn.) finished in fifth place at 125 pounds and junior David Sadder (Shoreview, Minn./Totino-Grace) took sixth place at 157 pounds.

The SJU wrestling team will host the annual Terry Haws Dual Tournament at 9 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 15, at Sexton Arena on the SJU campus.
