The 26th nationally ranked SJU wrestling team defeated St. Olaf 52-0 in a dual match on Wednesday, Feb. 2, in Sexton Arena and then hosted the annual North Country Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 5, in Sexton Arena.

In the win over St. Olaf, SJU won five weight classes by forfeit. Second nationally ranked junior Dan Fiecke (Winsted, Minn./Holy Trinity) won his match at 197 pounds by fall in 34 seconds, while junior Nate Schraan (Eagan, Minn.) won by fall at 125 pounds in 2:04. Freshman Casey Boutain (Starbuck, Minn./Minnewaska) won by major decision 13-0 at 174 pounds. Junior Jeff Snegosky (New Hope, Minn./Totino-Grace) won by a 7-1 decision at 165 pounds and junior Charlie Sadder (Shoreview, Minn./Totino-Grace) won by a 3-2 decision at 157 pounds.

At the North Country Tournament, SJU had three wrestlers finish in the top six. No team scores were kept. Number two seed junior Dan Willaert (North Mankato, Minn./Mankato Loyola) finished second at 184 pounds, unseeded freshman Jason Finley (Lake City, Minn.) finished fourth at heavyweight and fourth seeded Charlie Sadder took fourth place at 149 pounds.

SJU is currently 3-10 overall in dual matches. The nationally ranked SJU wrestling team will host St. Cloud State in a dual match and its annual alumni duals at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, in Sexton Arena. Other SJU Wrestling Information:
