Dakota County Technical College seeks new head coach
March 9, 2005
Henry Gerten, our coach of the last two years has resigned from our NJCAA program. A head coaching position (Adjunct Faculty) is now open and we are searching for a new head coach.
Dakota County is located in Rosemount, MN and has 2200 full time students. Our wrestling program competes at the NJCAA level and is one of five sports in our brand new athletic program. Specifically, our wrestling program needs leadership that is willing to build a program with students who can utilize a technical college education, a community college education and/or seek economic and or academic help in beginning a college career including transfer.
In four seasons, our wrestling program has had trouble getting off the ground. However, the college fully supports the program and a strong operating budget is available. For the last nine months we have remodeled a campus building to serve as home and future of our wrestling team and coaching offices. This newly dedicated facility and wrestling room has natural lighting, an adjacent classroom with proximal technology, a new student lounge, coaching offices, training area and locker rooms. This project will be completed soon.
The college remains committed to the sport and would like to have a successful program that retains students and builds individual success stories. We are seeking interested candidates for the mentioned position. Please see our position opening, our college website and our athletic website.
