MSU-Moorhead announces 2005 recruiting class

MSU-Moorhead and Head Coach Keenan Spiess announce a strong recruiting class headlined by three transfers. With a recruiting class that includes Junior College All-Americans, a past Division II All-American, and very successful high school wrestlers, the Dragons look to continue to improve on previous success.

Kyle Trout, Wadena-Deer Creek (2003), 157 lbs.
Kyle was a two-time Junior College All-American for Itasca Community College placing sixth at Nationals in both 2004 and 2005. In high school Kyle was a two-time state placer – runner-up in 2003 and sixth in 2002. He had a record of 41-1 as a senior. He comprised a 150-51 career in high school.

Bryan Cowdin, Worthington (2001), 184 lbs.
Bryan was a Junior College All-American at Worthington and a Division II All-American at South Dakota State. In high school he was a four-time state placer. His senior year he took first place with a 35-0 record and a third place finish at USA Freestyle Nationals. His junior year he took third place, sophomore first place, and freshman fourth place.

Joe Facchinni, Nashwauk-Keewatin/Greenway (2003), 197 lbs.
Joe was a Junior College All-American for Itasca CC placing 7th at heavyweight in 2005. He helped Itasca to a third place team finish at Nationals in 2005.

Davey Kosen, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, 125 lbs.
Davey was a three-time state entrant placing third in 2005, fourth in 2004, and fourth in 2002. He comprised a 37-5 record in 2005, and he holds the most career wins at DGF HS with 145.

Dustin Nagel, Hillsboro, ND, 157 lbs.
Dustin was North Dakota state champion at 152 lbs. in 2005 and a runner-up at 145 lbs. in 2004.

Steve Carlon, Eden Prairie, 125/133 lbs.
Steve compiled a 2005 record of 36-2 and was a state qualifier. He holds a 104-27 career record.

Ryan Coghlan, Valley City, ND, 174 lbs.
Ryan was two-time North Dakota state entrant placing second in 2003 and 6th in 2002.

Beau Tweten, Moorhead, 133/141 lbs.

Kyle Dukowitz, Brainerd, 149 lbs.
Kyle took 6th place at state in 2005. He holds a 111-45 career record.

Nathan Roemer, Annandale/Maple Lake (2004), 149 lbs.
Nathan is a Bemidji State transfer. He was a two-time state entrant placing fourth in 2000.

Nick Reidman, Valley City, ND, 141 lbs.
Nick was a three-time North Dakota state placer.

Alex Shores, Oseola WI, 125 lbs.
Alex is a transfer from Itasca CC.

Brandon Thielbault, Hwt
Brandon is a transfer from Itasca CC.

MSU-Moorhead looks to improve on one of its best seasons since becoming a Division II program with three All-Americans and a 16th place finish at the 2005 NCAA DII National Tournament. Combining this recruiting class and the strong group of returners coming back the future looks bright for Dragon wrestling.
