Hartung to lead SDSU wrestling clinic

BROOKINGS, S.D. - Two-time NCAA Divsion I national champion Tim Hartung will be the featured clinician for the annual Fall Wrestling Clinic at South Dakota State University on Oct. 30.

A native of Durand, Wis., Hartung won individual national titles for the University of Minnesota at 190 pounds in 1998 and 197 pounds in 1999. The 1999 Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient and Big Ten Wrestler of the Year, Hartung won three conference titles and earned All-America honors three times.

In 2002, he won a U.S. National Freestyle championship and competed as a member of the U.S. World Team. Hartung added a World Cup championship to his list of accomplishments in 2003 and served as an alternate to the U.S. Olympic Team this past year.

Hartung is currently in his first year as an assistant coach at the University of Iowa, after spending five years as an assistant coach at Minnesota.

Pre-registration for the clinic will be accepted until Oct. 25.
