Reflections on 2005-06 team and individual achievements
The 2005-06 season was a successful one for Concordia Wrestling. The Cobbers went 6-5 in dual competition, three of the six losses came down to the heavyweight match and were against Division II programs and nationally ranked NAIA programs.
The Cobbers were 4-1 against Division III schools, defeating two nationally ranked programs in St. John's and Buena Vista. Buena Vista placed fifth in the National Duals this year and St John's was also a participant but did not place.
The scrappy young Cobber team placed seventh out of 14 schools at this year's Great Lakes Region and were just four points out of sixth place. Coach Nagel is very excited about the future of Cobber Wrestling, "We have 14 returning letterwinners back and are looking at a very strong group of incoming freshmen to help us get to the next level."
