Vikings ranked 10th in preseason poll

The Augustana wrestling team is ranked 10th in the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches' Association Top 20 Preseason Poll which was released onTuesday.
Augustana garnered 85 points to earn the top 10 ranking, just behind
Fort Hays State, which is ninth with 87 points. Central Oklahoma earned
the preseason No. 1 ranking with 152 points. Nebraska-Kearney (151) is
second, while Minnesota State-Mankato (150) is third. Three-time
defending national champion Nebraska-Omaha is fourth, while
Pittsburgh-Johnstown rounds out the top 5.
The Vikings return four national qualifiers and three All-Americans
from last year's team that finished sixth at the Division II National
Championships. All four Vikings are nationally-ranked in their
respective weight classes.
Senior Nate Buys is the highest ranked Viking. Buys is ranked No. 2 at
197pounds after earning All-America honors at 184 pounds last year.
Senior Austin Scarset is ranked No. 3 at 157 pounds after finishing
fourth at that weight in 2006. Senior Cody Henriksen, an All-American
at 165 pounds a year ago, makes the jump to 174 pounds, where hs ranked
fifth, while senior Chris Trampe is ranked seventh at 125 pounds.
The Vikings open the 2006-07 season this weekend in Brookings, S.D., at
the Daktronics/Warren Williamson Open. Action begins at 9 a.m.
