Nate Buys finished second at 197 pounds to highlight the Augustana
wrestling team's performance at the Kaufman/Brand Open Saturday in
Omaha, Neb.
Buys went 3-1 on the day to finish as the runner-up. After a
first-round bye, he defeated Justin Bronson of Minnesota 1-0. Next,
Buys edged Cory Harnitz of Minnesota State-Mankato and Dallas Mitchell
of Indianapolis by identical 3-1 scores. In the finals, Buys dropped an
8-4 decision to Jacob Marrs of Nebraska-Omaha.
Austin Scarset got off to a great start at 157 pounds by winning his
first three matches. However, he was forced to forfeit his quarterfinal
match to Moza Fay of Northern Iowa.
