Bison Place Four on WWC All-Conference Squad

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The Western Wrestling Conference has announced its inaugural All-Conference teams for the 2006-07 season. Individuals earned their spots on the respective teams with their finish at the 2007 NCAA West Regional on March 3.

The University of Northern Iowa led the way with four first-team honorees. The University of Northern Colorado had three first-team members. Wyoming added two first-teamers and North Dakota State had one wrestler on the first team.

NDSU’s Eric Hoffman won the NCAA West Regional at 125 pounds, earning a spot on the first team. Hoffman earned an automatic spot for the NCAA National Championships with the victory and finished the season with a 20-6 record. A trio of Bison wrestlers were third-team selections. Eric Sanders, Ryan Adams and Jacob Bryce all received third-team honors. Both Adams and Bryce competed at the National Championships, earning wild-card berths at the West Regional.

North Dakota State finished the 2006-07 season with a 8-5-1 dual record. In their first season in the Western Wrestling Conference, the Bison completed a 3-2-1 record in conference matches.

The Western Wrestling Conference is comprised of seven schools including the Air Force Academy, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, Utah Valley State and Wyoming. The conference formed in April 2006.
