Four South
Dakota State University wrestlers have been honored on the 2006-07
Western Wrestling Conference All-Conference Team.
Honored on the second team were seniors Andy Eversonand Nate Althoff, junior Jason Stripling and redshirt
freshman Ryan Meyer. Everson,
a native of Mitchell, finished the 2006-07 season with a 10-3 record
and closed out his SDSU career by placing second at the NCAA West
Regional.
A Watertown native, Althoff posted an 11-5 record and was named a
second alternate for the NCAA Division I tournament after placing third
overall at the NCAA West Regional.
Stripling, a heavyweight from Minneota, Minn., was second on the team
in victories this winter with a 22-6 record. He made the second team
following a runner-up performance at the NCAA Regional.
Also honored on the second team was Meyer. The Parkston native garnered
a team high 23-11 record and was the lone Jackrabbit to wrestle at the
Division I Championships after placing second overall at 165 pounds at
the NCAA West Regional.
South Dakota State, coached by Jason Liles, finished the 2006 season
with a 8-8-1 overall record. The Jackrabbits placed three wrestlers in
the finals of the NCAA West Regional on March 3.
