Deitchler gives verbal commitment
to wrestle for the Gophers

Anoka wrestler Jake Deitchler of has given a verbal commitment to
attend and wrestle for the University of Minnesota in 2008-2009.
Deitchler won his second Minnesota high school state title this year as
a junior. He completed the season with a perfect 44-0 record and is
167-28 in his career.
He was a USA Wrestling Cadet Greco-Roman National Champion in 2005, and
he was a Junior All-American in freestyle and Greco-Roman, placing
second and third respectively last summer.
Intermat ranks Deitchler as the number two 145 pound junior in the
nation.
Deitchler needs 23 wins next
year to become the winningest Anoka wrestler.
