SCSU Signs Two More Student-Athletes for 2007-08

May 17, 2007

St. Cloud, Minn. - St. Cloud State University head wrestling coach Steve Costanzo has announced the signing of high school prep stars Jordan Foy (Ellsworth, WI) and Jon Schiewe (Chicago, IL) to North Central Conference and National Letters of Intent to attend St. Cloud State University and wrestle for the Huskies in 2007-08.

Foy attended Ellsworth High School and placed three times at the Wisconsin High School State Championships.  This past season, he went 43-2, claiming his first state championship and placed 2nd in 2006 and 4th in 2005 respectively.  In addition, he amassed an overall high school record of 130-22.  Foy is projected to compete at 125-pounds for the Huskies.

“I am extremely excited to have Jordan on board,” Costanzo said. “He is a quick and explosive wrestler with all the ability to be one of the great ones.  I believe that he will be right in the thick of things for us at our lower weights.”

Schiewe attended St. Patrick High School where he was a 2007 Illinois High School state qualifier this past season with a record of 34-7.  He claimed four regional championships and finished third in the sectional championships during his senior campaign. He will be joining his brother Chris Schiewe in the fall who recently committed to SCSU.

“Jon is another great student-athlete with a lot of ability,” Costanzo said. “He loves to wrestle and compete and has a style that is fun to watch.  He will make a great addition to our roster.”
