Three Vikings Named to Academic All-NCC At-Large Teams

student-athletes have been named to the 2007 Academic All-North Central
Conference At-Large Teams, the league office announced today. Wrestler
Cody Henriksen was named to the men's team, while tennis player Tara
Tesmer and golfer Joelle Kowalczyk were named to the women's team.
Henriksen, a senior from Arlington, S.D., has a 3.74 grade point average while majoring in biology and philosophy.
Henriksen was a three-time All-American for the Viking wrestling team,
posting a 73-33 career record in the process. A three-time All-North
Central Conference performer, Henriksen placed third at the 2007
Division II National Championships at 174 pounds after accumulating a
25-8 record. A two-year captain, Henriksen was awarded an NCAA
Postgraduate Scholarship.
Tesmer, a senior from Lincoln, Neb., was named to an Academic All-NCC
Team for a third time. She was named to the 2006 At-Large Team and the
2005 Volleyball Team. A government major with a 3.82 grade point
average. Tesmer went 9-6 at No. 1 singles and 7-7 No. 1 doubles this
season. She was fourth at No. 1 singles and sixth at No. 1 doubles at
the North Central Conference Tournament.
Kowalczyk is a junior from Plymouth, Minn. She has a 3.64 GPA as a
business administration major. She was the Vikings' No. 3 golfer this
season with an average score of 86.2. She was an All-NCC Second Team
performer after finishing 10th at the NCC Championships, helping Augie
to a runner-up finish in the team standings.
