Jason Rhoten of Minnesota State has been named the NCC Wrestler of the Week.
Rhoten, a senior from Mantorville, Minn., went 5-0 to win his weight
class and picked up his 100th career victory at the Stevens Point Open.
Rhoten scored a 16-4 major decision over James Jones (unattached)
before gaining a 12-5 decision over Fred Lane of Wisconsin-Stevens
Point. He then had a 6-4 win over nationally-ranked Travis Eggers of
Upper Iowa and a 6-1 win over national qualifier Craig Becker of
Wisconsin-Parkside. Rhoten captured the title with a 3-1 win over
nationally-ranked Michael Horton of Indianapolis.
