Jason Rhoten of Minnesota State has been named the NCC Wrestler of the Week.
Rhoten, a senior from Mantorville, Minn., went 5-0 in both the 157- and
165-pound weight classes at the Newberry Duals. He defeated JaVonte
Ashford of King College 10-3 and Alonso Azumendi of Newberry 7-3 at 165
pounds. The he dropped down to 157 pounds and pinned Alex Cate of
Carson-Newman in 6:46 before jumping back to 165 pounds to post a 17-2
tech fall over Tony Bradberry of Ashland. In the final match of the day
he posted a 20-5 tech fall over Todd Selke of Anderson at 157 pounds.
