The St. Cloud State University wrestling
team, which owns a perfect 7-0 record this season, has moved up to 16th
in the latest NCAA Division II wrestling poll that was released on Jan.
23.
The poll was topped by NCC rival Minnesota State Mankato with 159
points, while Nebraska-Omaha was second with 153 points. SCSU
talllied 38 points in the poll. The top five was rounded out by
Central Oklahoma, Nebraska-Kearney and Adams State.
The Huskies' Brad Padgett (Buckley, Wash./White River H.S./Highline
C.C.) earned a seventh place ranking at 184-pounds. He was the
lone SCSU wrestler to gain a top eight individual ranking.
SCSU, led by coach Steve Costanzo, will continue its season on Jan. 25
with a 7 p.m. home match against St. Olaf at Halenbeck Hall. On
Jan. 26, the Huskies will battle NCC rival Nebraska-Omaha. The
match in Halenbeck Hall will begin at 2 p.m.
