Nick Wilkes of St. Cloud State and Brent Pankoke of Nebraska-Omaha have been named the NCC Wrestlers of the Week for Feb. 5.
Wilkes, a senior from Onamia, Minn., moved to 17-4 on the season with a
pair of wins at 197-pounds as St. Cloud State upset #7-ranked Minnesota
State Moorhead and shutout Southwest Minnesota State by a 50-0 score.
Wilkes defeated #8-ranked Matt Nelson of Minnesota State Moorhead by a
5-2 count on Feb. 1, and pinned Cody Chamblin of Southwest Minnesota
State in 2:59 on Feb. 2.
He becomes the second SCSU wrestler to gain NCC Wrestler of the Week
honors in 2007-08. Brad Padgett also gained league accolades
