MARSHALL, MN -- Southwest Minnesota State University
wrestling head coach Jesse Nelson announced on Thursday that Garrett
Rozeboom from Mason, Mich., has signed a letter of intent to continue
his academic and wrestling career at SMSU.
Rozeboom is the 18th high school or college transfer student-athlete that has signed with SMSU for the 2008-09 season.
Rozeboom is a 2008 graduate of Mason High School and finished his high
school career with a record of 212-17. A four-year letterwinner
and three-time all-state honoree, Rozeboom won a state championship as
a junior and finished third as both a sophomore and as a senior.
A four-time all-conference honoree and four-time state qualifier he
finished 58-2 this past season taking home third place at the state
championships at 141 lb. He was also a member of two state
championship teams at Mason High School in 2005 and 2006.
“I am very excited that Garrett has chosen to become a Mustang,” Nelson
said. “He is a very talented wrestler and will be exciting to
watch on the mat for SMSU.”
Southwest Minnesota State, located in Marshall, Minn., is a member of
NCAA Division II and competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate
Conference.
