Yellowjackets' Clements selected for Scholar Athlete Award

wrestler Nathan Clements (West Salem, WI) has been selected to receive
the 2008 National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrator
Scholar Athlete Award. This is a national award given to only one male
and one female athlete each year for all sports. The criteria for this
award is based on academic and athletic excellence. The NATYCAA Scholar
Athlete award will be awarded in Dallas, TX on June 9th at the national
convention.
This past season, Nathan was one of seven RCTC student wrestlers to be
recognized as a NJCAA Academic All-Americans. He carries a 3.92 GPA and
has earned an "A" in 16 of his 17 courses at RCTC. He is majoring in
Computer Aided Drafting, and will graduate in 2009.
Nathan is has received All-American honors twice at RCTC, placing
seventh in 2007 and second in 2008 at the NJCAA National Wrestling
Tournament. He is a two time NJCAA Academic All-American, North Central
Region Champ, and MCCC Champ.
"Nathan is the perfect example of what we strive a student athlete to
be," said Coach Randy Rager. "He works hard both on the mat and in the
classroom. Everyday he tries to better himself and puts forth his best
efforts."
Clements will be returning to RCTC next fall to help coach the RCTC Yellowjackets.
