Mankato, Minn. --- The #4 Minnesota State wrestling squad improves to
11-0-1 on the season with a 40-10 win over the University of Mary
Marauders, Friday. The Mavericks won the first eight matches of the
evening building a 40-0 lead before the Marauders took the final two
matches.
The Mavericks 157-pounder and top-ranked Jason Rhoten (Mantorville,
Minn.), 165-pounder and second-ranked Andy Pickar (Brainerd, Minn.) and
133-pound freshman Tim Haneberg (Tinley Park, Ill.) all had pinfall
wins while seventh-ranked, 141-pound sophomore Travis Elg (Mountain
Lake, Minn.) added a technical-fall win, 18-3, at the 4:35 mark.
Minnesota State returns to action tomorrow night as it opens NCC
conference action at the the Taylor Center against Augustana College
with a 7 p.m. start.
