Competing in its final North Central Conference dual, the Augustana wrestling team lost to No. 2 Nebraska-Omaha 43-3 Wednesday night in Omaha, Neb.
Augustana fell to 4-6 on the season and 0-3 in the NCC, while UNO improved to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in the NCC.
The Vikings picked up only one win in the dual. After dropping the
first 8 matches, Augie gained a win at 197 pounds from Ty Copsey.
Copsey, ranked fourth in the nation, downed Nick Edmonds 9-2.
Jay Sherer locked up in a tight match with UNO's Sim Bribieseca at 141
pounds. The score was tied 2-2 after the second period, but Bribieseca
scored an escape early in the third period to edge Sherer 3-2.
Augustana returns to the mat on Saturday when the Vikings entertain instate rival Northern State in a 7 p.m. dual.
