Vaith commits to Hofstra University

Hastings wrestler Luke Vaith has verbally committed to wrestle for Hofstra University following his upcoming senior season.

Luke VaithVaith is a three-time state placewinner. He was the 130-pound Class AAA runner-up last season as a junior. Luke also placed third at 119 pounds as a sophomore and third at 103 pounds as a freshman. His current record is 156-20.

Nationally, Luke placed seventh in freestyle at the 2008 USA Wrestling Junior Nationals. He placed fourth in folkstyle at the 2008 USA Wrestling Junior Nationals.

He was also a USA Wrestling Cadet Double All-American in 2007 placing fifth in freestyle and seventh in Greco-Roman.

His parents are Paul and Jill and his coach is Paul Vaith.
