
Johnson Named NSIC Wrestler of the Week

ST. PAUL, MINN. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced Tuesday that Southwest Minnesota State's Tyler Johnson (Harrisburg, S.D.) has been named NSIC wrestler of the week.
A native of Harrisburg, S.D., Johnson was crowned co-champion at 184
pounds in the gold division at the Auggie-Brute-Adidas Open on Saturday
after posting a perfect 3-0 record on the day. Johnson began the invite
by taking a 6-0 decision from William Penn¹s Jordaryl Logan. He
then defeated Nic
Barclay of Luther 7-3 and finished up with a 6-1 victory over
Morningside¹s Joe Lockett. The senior is now 12-4 on the season.
This is the second time in his career that Johnson has been named NSIC wrestler of the week.
SMSU (1-0, 0-0 NSIC) returns to action Dec. 6 when the Mustangs travel to MSU Moorhead to take part in the Dragon Open.
