Peacocks Spoil SMSU's Regular Season Finale

MARSHALL, Minn. - Upper Iowa took all but one bout to defeat the Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team 38-3 Friday night in Marshall.

SMSU finishes the season 3-7 (2-5 NSIC), while UIU, which still has one regular season dual remaining, improves to 12-4 (5-1 NSIC).

David Albrecht picked up the lone Mustang win on the evening, posting a 6-5 decision over UIU's Derek Stolarzyk at 149 pounds.

UIU managed to take three wins by fall from SMSU.

The Mustangs dropped the first three bouts before Albrecht got them on the board. The Peacocks then won the final six bouts of the evening.

SMSU now prepares for the Super Regional Three, which the Mustangs will be hosting on March 1 at SMSU's R/A Facility.
