Dragons Shocked By Bluehawks, Fall 28-9

DICKINSON, S.D. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon wrestling
team traveled on their first of two road trips in 2010. The Dragons
first stop was Dickinson State with hopes a win over the Bluehawks
would provide momentum heading into their NSIC schedule. The Bluehawks
came out ready for an upset and stunned the Dragons 28-9.
The Dragons did enjoy some success after junior Evan Forde pinned
Dickinson State’s Blake Hunter at the 2:44 mark of the match at 133
pounds. The win improves Forde’s record on the season to 15-6 on the
season. The Dragons did not let the Bluehawks go easily as senior Tim
Johnson achieved an 8-2 decision over Frank Lopez in the 285 match.
The loss gives the Dragons a 3-5 record on the year. The Dragons will
head to Aberdeen, S.D. to take on the Northern State Wolves Friday at 7
p.m. in a showdown of NSIC opponents.
