St. Cloud State Rolls to 35-12 Win Over UW-Eau Claire

St. Cloud, Minn. – The #9 St. Cloud State University wrestling team rolled to a solid 35-12 victory over Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Friday, Jan. 15. The victory at home for the Huskies moves their record in 2009-10 to 8-4, while UW-EC falls to 1-13 on the season.

The match was decided by the Huskies with an 11-1 major decision by senior Adam Minnette over UW-EC’s Jon Ames at 157-pounds. SCSU went on to ice the match with pinfall victories by Tad Merritt at 165-pounds and Lucas Munelwitz at 197-pounds, along with a technical fall by Shamus O’Grady at 174-pounds.

SCSU will continue its season on Jan. 16, with a home match against Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rival Southwest Minnesota State. The match in Halenbeck Hall will start at 7 p.m., and tickets can be purchased at the gate for this key NSIC showdown on the mats. Listed below are the complete results of the match versus UW-EC.
