 Mustangs Drop Conference Road Contest at No. 6 Upper Iowa

FAYETTE, Iowa -  No. 6 Upper Iowa was victorious in eight of 10 bouts en route to topping Southwest Minnesota State 35-12 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Friday night in Fayette, Iowa.

UIU moves to 11-1 (5-0 NSIC), while SMSU drops to 1-3 (0-3 NSIC).

The Peacocks rattled off wins in the dual's opening six bouts before SMSU's Brian Rodas pinned Arron Kramer in the first period in the 285-pound bout.

UIU notched another two wins in the ensuing bouts at 125 and 133 pounds.  Brandan Schunk was responsible for the second part of the Mustangs' dozen team points as he picked up a win by fall in 1:53 against Scott Bergmann at 141 pounds.

SMSU will wrestle at Buena Vista tomorrow at 3 p.m.
