St. Cloud State Topples Mary 32-7

The #9 St. Cloud State University wrestling team won its second consecutive NSIC dual match with a big 32-7 victory at the University of Mary on Feb. 5, in Bismarck, N.D. The victory improves SCSU's record to 11-7 overall and 3-1 in NSIC action. Mary falls to 2-8, 0-5 NSIC with the setback.

In the match, SCSU led from start to finish as Trent Herold got the ball rolling with an 8-6 win at 125-pounds. Shane McQuade gained a forfeit win at 133-pounds for SCSU to gain a 9-0 lead. Junior Gabe Suarez returned to the mat at 141-pounds with a nice 13-5 major decision while Jacob Horn posted a victory at 149-pounds to push the lead to 19-0.

At 157-pounds #8 John Sundgren rolled to an 8-1 win before Shamus O'Grady (174-pounds), Lucas Munkelwitz (197-pounds) and Jacob Kahnke (285-pounds) complete the SCSU romp with three final victories on the evening.

SCSU will continue its Dakota road trip with a match at Northern State University on Feb. 6, in Aberdeen, S.D. Listed below is a complete match wrap-up provided by U-Mary.
