In a controversial match at 141 pounds, Troy Marr decisioned Jeff Bucher 2-1 The controversy occured when in the first overtime period Marr appeared to get a takedown which would have ended the match in Marr's favor. The referee however, after awarding the takedown, called off the takedown and Bucher seemed to take control. The ref awarded Bucher the takedown but changed his mind after it was argued that Marr stopped wrestling when the ref first awarded a takedown to Marr. After some arguing from the coaches, the match resumed with no takedown awarded. Marr went on to get an escape in the second overtime period to win the match.
