The University of Minnesota wrestling team has been getting many questions regarding the weekly T.V. show, Minnesota Wrestling Weekly, which was a thirty minute show every Monday evening during the wrestling season on MSC. Each program covered current events in kids, high school, and college wrestling within the state. We ran the show for three years from 1999-2002. It was very successful, but the change of MSC to Fox Regional Sports ended the series. There is a new regional sports channel that covers the Minnesota Twins and Gopher Basketball, Victory Sports, which would like to start Minnesota Wrestling Weekly again. This is a great opportunity for our sport. Wrestling, one of the world's hardest sports needs publicity. Minnesota Wrestling Weekly does just that, by bringing our great sport to television every week. We are asking the wrestling fans for support with this program. For Minnesota Wrestling Weekly to be active again, it will take money. We love running the show, but we need extensive help in the fundraising. It's extremely important that everyone get involved. We are looking for companies and individuals for a title sponsor and advertising spots. We are asking the wrestling community to help us find companies or people to fill these twelve advertising spots costing $5,000 and up. Within the wrestling community there must be enough business contacts for us to fill these spots. Each advertising company will be given a thirty-second commercial every show. Each program will be shown two to three times a week, a Monday night prime time and two reruns throughout the week. Minnesota Wrestling needs your help. For more details, please feel free to call.
